My Story

Olesya

As far back as I can remember, I have been writing notes and drawing pictures of all the things I was learning in church and anything to do with God. As soon as I was able, I started teaching Sunday school to the littles at my church (I was in middle school). Then I started teaching youth group (and I was only in high-school), writing my own curriculum. once i finished high school, I started Bible College, but then stopped short of finishing, got married, my hubby joined the military and we started moving everywhere. When we moved to Alaska, I became the youth director and here my passions really came to life. The Lord really blessed this time and we went on retreats, missions trips, and I led some sermons in the Chapel. I also taught my first paint class, one of many that would follow. When we moved to Texas, God brought me into women’s ministry, and ever since, this has been where my heart is, teaching women that they can read the Bible too.

The Flock

I married a pretty fantastic guy named, Tyler. He gets my love language, food, and treats me with Sushi every chance we get to sneak away. The way to my heart really is through my stomach. We have been through so much together, and I’m so happy to be by his side in this life we live.

I homeschool my wonderful kiddos, Ben and Olyver who are 16 (Yes, they’re twins), Saylah who is 9, and we just added the sweetest Gideon to the flock, who is 8 months.

We do all the things together, from starting side hustles, to cooking and cleaning, to hitting the slopes snowboarding.

Did you know?

  • I was born in Russia and immigrated to America with my family as religious refugees?
  • I first learned English when I was 6 years old.
  • I have lived in 7 states already! (2 before marriage, and the rest after, traveling America with my military hubby)
  • The first time I painted was when I was teaching a paint night for youth group in Alaska. We painted the northern lights.
  • I had a brain hemorrhage at 29 and couldn’t walk or see well, or talk well afterwards, but God has brought me so far since then.
  • Nobody in school knew me by my name, I was too shy to talk to anyone until my junior year.
